A night of legacy and liberation: 40 Years of Love
We are launching The Spencer Maxwell Foundation at the Parliament event to mark the 40 year anniversary of Homosexual Law Reform, which in 1986 marked a pivotal shift in our nation's history toward human rights, decriminalisation, and true acceptance.

A truly fabulous night is expected and we are excited to be part of a fun event to celebrate something serious - the recognition of gay rights in law. These hard-won advancements in LGBTQ+ equality remain vulnerable to systemic rollbacks, however we continue to acknowledge and protest by being together and finding joy.
While Spencer Maxwell will be represented in absentia at the official celebration held at Parliament on Thursday, 9 July 2026, his spirit will be very much with us.
